Capturing Color-Out of School
I looked for color in the town I live in. I went to Profile Rock around dusk because I figured the trees in the Freetown State Forest would all be changing colors and the setting sun would cast good lighting on the foliage. My favorite photograph from Capturing Color is of a mossy rock with a bright red leaf on it. The colors are natural and I captured complementary colors: red and green. Red is a primary color and green is a secondary color. To make the color the main focus of the photo, I angled my camera so that the green moss was in the foreground and in focus, while the red leaf in the background is out of focus. Even though the leaf is out of focus, it still captures the viewer's attention with the bright color against a gray and green rock.
