Studio Portfolio
The last photo, featuring Dakota, is the best example of using studio lighting to create a dynamic photograph. The light is coming from the left side of the photo, creating a shadow on Dakota's left side of his face (left on him, right looking at photo). There is also a shadow in the top right side of the frame and is created by Dakota's frame. The model is looking into the light so that his head is looking to the left and is somewhat tilted back towards his right shoulder. This picture is vertical and taking straight on so the viewer is eye level with the model. The main focus is on the model's face but also features his torso. The mood that is portrayed is "deep thought", like he is a bystander studying a person. The model looks serious in this photograph. A different feeling can be felt when comparing the last photo with the second photo. The second photograph shows a playful Julia using an old fashioned camera, which contrasts greatly with Dakota's serious expression. A softer lightings, position, and using props helped to create a contrasting mood between the second and last photograph.
